May 07 'Me thinks it must be time for a new post ! 'This is one post that YOU will have to judge for yourself as to whether it is ALL entertainment !
On Friday afternoon I filled the dishwasher and put it on just before Fergus awakened from his nap .As I was getting us both ready to go out I realised that something was burning ,so leaving Fergus sitting on the potty in the conservatory , I went around wall sockets etc in the kitchen to trace the smell .On opening the dishwasher I realised that was the source of the ,by now,awful stink .I quickly unplugged it and pulled out the bottom rack ,but the top rack wouldn't budge, so I got a large jug of water & filled the smoking machine to prevent a fire,and I had to take out the items individually & then empty the cupboard where the water supply could be turned off .Then I turned off the water supply ...well nearly ...but when I took the feed pipe off the back of the washer water went everywhere over the kitchen floor (which is next to the conservatory )...now remember where Fergus was supposed to be ....well of course when he heard water splashing he was off the potty and into the water ! As the water covered his feet he changed his mind & danced around and into the living room to look for Gavin ...who I had telephoned ,in vain,for help ...now it IS entertainment of a sort ,even I have to agree .But as I wasn't convinced that it was safe to leave the machine in the house I had to get it outside somehow so I rang Jeffrey ,who was due home in the next 40 minutes or so .He said "I'll be home as soon as the night watchman comes " typical response from 'himself' , until I replied that I would have to get Fergus out in case it fired ...then he realised it was urgent and set off home .Fergus was so good .he stood on by the room window and watched excitedly for Grandad to come home while I set about mopping water up ....several gallons of it :-( We did get the dishwasher out without any further damage . As we have had this one for over 10 years, & I had said only last week how good it had been never breaking down, we are taking badly to washing pots by hand ..lazy or what !

Back to finish the post ...A new dishwasher is to be delivered next week ,a few days without one makes me appreciate what I have or had :-)
Back to Jeff's sunday entertainment .Whilst out birdwatching ,miles away from home , he put the car key down inside the boot of the car closed the lid & locked the key inside.As the car doors were also locked ,with all his belongings inside including his house keys & mobile phone ,he went to a nearby house to ask for assistance...but NOT to ring the rescue service ,oh no that would have been too simple .'Himself'gets a ride home (about a half hour drive from us)from the kind person who answered the door he knocked on ! Fortunately I was at home ,as he had no idea where the spare car key was kept ...or a house key to open our door ..lol When I asked why he hadn't rung the rescue service that we subscribe to his reply was "I was out in the middle of nowhere "...he actually rang our house ,but I didn't hear the phone !!!! Then men say that women can't cope in an emergency :-)

On Saturday I enjoyed a night out at a local Hotel
listen to a live blues band namely 'The Oli Brown Band '. Oli is the young brother of a friend of our youngest son's. After getting used to the noise level during the first few items I really had a great time as the music and the vocals were excellent ...

Now that I have updated ,I can go away with a clear conscience.
As I am travelling to Wayne's by rail I will not be taking my laptop ,so will not be around until late next week ...
